Record Search

If you want to search for records for any name in this family tree, or for any other family name, just click below on the first letter of the family name you are interested in. This will open a new tab in your browser giving you a list of family names beginning with that letter, for which there are baptism records in our database of half a million church and public registry records.

You can also select marriages or burials. Select the name you want and when the list of records is displayed you can easily refine the search, choosing a single parish, given name(s) and/or start and end dates.

The records are displayed 30 to a page, but by selecting the yellow Wiki Table option at the top left of the page you can open a full, scrollable list. This list will either be displayed in a new tab or a pop-up window. You may have to edit the settings of your browser to allow pop-up windows for www.jerripediabmd.net. For the small number of family names for which a search generates more than 1,500 records you will have to refine your search (perhaps using start or end dates) to reduce the number of records found.

Notes and references

  1. Principal of Grouville, 1531
  2. Centenier of Grouville, 1547
  3. Of La Rue de Grouville
  4. Messervy placed Marguerite Estur`s name and parentage immediately below that of her husband; their children were on the left side of the page, indicating that they were senior to their father`s issue by his two later marriages, as confirmed by dates. Despite this, the publishers have confused the order of these marriages: ABSJ, XIII, 334-5. This is now rectified
  5. See above and C.Hér. 16. Etienne Amy`s wife Sara had acquired a right from her sister Catherine, C. Hér. 13
  6. Widow of Jean Payn, son of Anthoine
  7. Marriage record not found; Messervy said 1624
  8. Godfather Sir Philippe de Carteret, Seigneur of St Ouen, Bailiff and Lieut-Governor
  9. Widow of Jean Alexandre
  10. Co-heir of Sire Jacques Amy, his grand-uncle
  11. Vingtenier of Rozel, Trinity, 1634. His wife, Marie Amy "fille de Jean Ami et de Marguitte, sa femme" had as godfather in 1589 "Francois Ami ju[ni]or", he being of Le Câtillon de Bas. He was the child`s maternal uncle. Jean Binet and Marie Amy had as their youngest child, Jean Binet, christened in Trinity in 1629, with "Etienne Amy et sa femme Jeanne" [Poingdestre] as godparents. "Marie Amy, veufve Jean Binet" was buried in Trinity on the 1st May 1643, leaving to the poor two cabots of wheat as a single payment
  12. Baptised in 1595 and not as printed for Messervy (1590). He, like his sister, had François Amy as godfather
  13. 2nd marriage to Nicolas Dumaresq
  14. Probable son, according to Messervy; drowned on the rocks at St Clement, 1726: Etienne Amy junior
  15. Of La Rue, de Grouville
  16. Priest, Rector and Dean of Guernsey in 1547
  17. Fouageur of Grouville, 1537
