Cotentin peninsular

The peninsular of land strecthing from Cherbourg in the north to Mont St Michel in the south, which is the closest part of France to Jersey is known as the Cotentin. It forms the départment of Manche, part of the region of Basse Normandie.
Jersey has long had strong links with major towns in the Cotentin, including Coutances, St Lo, Carteret and Portbail.
