This submitted tree was added to the site in 2015, a year after another more substantial tree - Descendants of Jean Filleul. The accuracy of this tree has now been called into question. We now believe that it is unlikely that Philippe (1659- ), Gen 2, married Jeanne Dumaresq. Although we are carrying out further research, we do not think that this Philippe married and had children. Philippe (1690- ) appears to have married twice, first to Marguerite Filleul, in 1711, and then to Sara Godfray, and to have had children by both marriages. We have copied the descent from his marriage to Sara Godfray to the other tree. This tree will be deleted if further research confirms the changes

In common with the majority of our trees, this descendancy has been subject to regular review by site editors and checked against Jersey church records. Trees including French ancestry have also been checked as far as possible against French primary records. It is not always possible to carry out such checks on sections of trees with United Kingdom and/or colonial content
