Record Search

If you want to search for records for any name in this family tree, or for any other family name, just click below on the first letter of the family name you are interested in. This will open a new tab in your browser giving you a list of family names beginning with that letter, for which there are baptism records in our database of half a million church and public registry records.

You can also select marriages or burials. Select the name you want and when the list of records is displayed you can easily refine the search, choosing a single parish, given name(s) and/or start and end dates.

The records are displayed 30 to a page, but by selecting the yellow Wiki Table option at the top left of the page you can open a full, scrollable list. This list will either be displayed in a new tab or a pop-up window. You may have to edit the settings of your browser to allow pop-up windows for For the small number of family names for which a search generates more than 1,500 records you will have to refine your search (perhaps using start or end dates) to reduce the number of records found.

Notes and references

  1. His Will was dated and proved in 1780, leaving his furniture and goods to his daughter Marie, and mentioning the pending `enagement`, the reaching of a majority, aged 20 years, of his grandson Jean. A future partage to take place, "between my said daughter and the sons of the late Jean Falle, my eldest son": D/Y/A/13/17, at the Jersey Archive
  2. Jeanne de Carteret Remon married secondly in 1783, at St Saviour, (see J B Payne, An Armorial of Jersey, 275), Philippe Marett
  3. Marriage record not found
  4. Grower
  5. There is an element of uncertainty about this Jean marrying Anne Guille and further research is necessary
  6. Master mariner. There is a question mark over whether this John was the son of Jean and Anne, nee Guille. There were a number of Falles, baptised Jean, who appeared in marriage records as John, as the 19th century progressed, and some who married twice, adding to confusion. There also seem to have been other Jean (John) Falles who were master mariners
  7. Carpenter
  8. Grocer's assistant. At the age of 17 in 1881 he was living as a boarder with the Newington family in Val Plaisant, St Helier
  9. Grocer
  10. Emigrated to Canada in 1910, served in the Canadian Infantry as a private. Was a soldier living in Colchester at time of marriage. Returned to Channel Islands after war service, during which he was wounded, and the couple's first son was born there in 1918 before he took his family back to Canada in 1919, where the other children were born
