Notes and references
- ↑ A number of online trees show Jean born in 1740, 15 years after Thomas and Esther's previous child. There is, however, no baptism record for a Jean born in 1740. The only record is for a son Jean born to Thomas and Esther in 1730, which fits much better with their other children. However, that would make Jean 53 at his marriage to Esther Le Gros, not impossible, but unlikely. We think it is more likely that there is another Jean a generation in between, whose baptism is missing from the St John registers
