This tree was added to the site in 2010. It has been added to on a number of occasions since and reviewed in 2019

Although Marett marriage and baptism records start in the 16th century, we have been unable to find records to substantiate a number of generations at the top of the tree. We suggest that the first nine generations are treated with extreme caution

The tree, as submitted, contained Anglicised versions of given names from very early on. These have been changed to the French versions which were used at the time. We suspect that the tree is based on research undertaken in the late 19th century, when the practice of changing given names to English versions was very common

We are undertaking further research in an attempt to provide baptism dates to substantiate the majority of names in generations 11 onwards in the middle of the tree. Until this work is complete we suggest that the whole tree is treated with caution. We would welcome information from anyone who has researched this tree and can provide more details.
