Guernsey Folklore
From Jerripedia
Guernsey has a rich and interesting history of tales, legends, superstitions and other folklore.
The two main collections of these can be found in:
- Sir Edgar MacCulloch's Guernsey Folklore - the former bailiff collected stories from around the island that were edited and published by Edith Carey after his death.
- Marie de Garis's Folklore of Guernsey, originally a series of articles in Review of the Guernsey Society, first published as a book in 1975. It has since been reprinted twice. Marie de Garis donated the Copyright to La Société Guernesiaise in 1998.
A more recent resource is Neil Inder's Guernsey Folklore Map[1]
