Listed building

Mid-18th century farmstead, with earlier remains, retaining historic character and features. Historic farmstead with early origins circa 1600s, with additions from the mid-18th century onwards. Incorporates a pair of rare 17th century porch pillars. There is a stone inscribed 'DB SL-' which represents Daniel Bisson and Susanne Le Breton. It was originally a porch post but now used as a gate post. Shown on the Richmond Map of 1795. Restored 2 storey, 7 bay farmhouse range, comprising 5 bay house (2 La Garenne Cottage) and further 2 bay house (La Garenne Cottage). Pitched slate roof with rendered chimneys and dormers. Front (south) elevation: coursed granite blocks, dressed granite surrounds to openings and large granite lintels, except to western 5 windows of first floor which are brick. Timber casement windows to 5 bay house; timber sashes to 2 bay cottage, 6 pane (3/3) with margin lights. Upper floor with unusual rows of pigeonnier holes. Rare porch pillars incorporated into rear as column and gate post.
