George Philip Amy born June 1874 in England and died 25/9/1939 was a Petty Officer in the Royal Navy, Service Number:158637 but he was not the sone of Peter John Amy and Theresa nee Hoare. He was my Great Grand-father and I have his WW1 medals. He was the brother of Francis Charles born 1867 in London and married to Rose Denton. Frederick George born 1869 in London Henry A (not sure if Albert) born 1878 in England Edward born 1880 in Jersey Philip John born 1883 in Jersey
George and Florence had five children Dorothy Maud born 7/6/1902 George (Albert) born 1/10/1904 who was later in the RAF, and was mentioned in dispatches and listed in the London Gazette 8/6/1944 (I have his medals and his dog tags Service Number: 1113742. He was my Grand-dad. Samuel Bertha born 7/7/1906 Marjorie Mina born 25/10/1911
George Went on to marry Edith (Richards) and had four children Graeme born 9/1/1930. He married Simonne Marcel Louise Andre born 21/2/1932 Peter born 20/08/1932 Thyrza born 21/09/1923 They also had John who died as an infant
George and Edith split up before the Second World War. George, Peter, Thyrza were evacuated to Barnsley. By this time he had met Madeline and they had Marguerite born 13/9/1936 Michael born 17/11/1940 in Barnsley
My father Graeme and my Mum, Simonne had five children Philip Graeme born 27/1/1957 Rosemary Ann born 20/08/1958 ( on Uncle Peter’s birthday) Christopher Mark born 12/04/1960 Martin Ian born 24/2/1962 Fiona June born 10/06/1970
Philip now lives in New Jersey, was married to Rebecca Lynn Jordan and have two children Lesley Ryan
Rosemary (that’s me) I live in Loughborough, served 42 years in the Army (Regular, Reserve and latterly Full Time Reserve. Service Number 458191) I was awarded the British Empire Medal in the 1990 New Years Honours list for Analytical work in the services.
