Jerripedia has joined forced with Google Maps to help those who are not familiar with Jersey, but interested in its history, to discover exactly where the placenames which appear throughout the site can be found on the map. If you come across one of the familiar Google Earth logos anywhere on the site, click on it to see a satellite view of the area of the island referred to on that page. Clicking on the logos in this box will take you to a page which gives more information about how to use the Google Maps feature.
We have also linked to Google's Street View to provide interactive views of how locations, where our historic pictures were taken, look today. With Jerripedia you can take a virtual tour of the island as it looked decades or centuries ago and then use StreetView to take the same tour in 2011. You will find links to Street View images on pages throughout the site.
