19th Century photographs by Anjoux of Paris
These photographs of Jersey and Guernsey scenes were taken by 19th century Paris photographer Adolphe Anjoux. Anjoux was based in Rue St Honoré in the French capital, and made a living from portrait photography from the 1850s onwards.
These pictures are believed to have been taken in Jersey and Guernsey in about 1865, and are of superb quality for photographs taken only about 20 years after photography first reached Jersey.
