Notes and references
- ↑ In the St Ouen register, the bride of "Jean Bailhache fils Jacques" reads as "Rachel Le Feuvre", although the "R" has a "C" that has been overwritten. This led to the previous belief that she was named Catherine
- ↑ Described on his second marriage in 1722 as "Jacques Bailhache snr of L`Etacq"
- ↑ "Jacques Bailhache jnr of L`Etacq" in 1727. His godfather was Philippe Le Feuvre of L`Etacq
- ↑ Godfather: Abraham Le Marquand and his wife
- ↑ Her godparents were Elie Le Cornu, son of Charles, and Jeanne Bailhache, sister of the father of the child
- ↑ The godmother of Nicolas, in 1709, was la fille du petit Matthieu Bailhache, de L`Etacq. Nicolas`s will was proved in 1741. There were bequests to the poor of St Brelade, where he had settled, and to the poor of St Ouen. His elderly father was left £50 tournois, to be received by his brother Jacques Bailhache, being part of an outstanding debt, dated 10 March 1736. The brother Jacques "et ses enfans" and sister, Judith received their own bequests, the remainder going to "ma femme", who was not named. The executors were Edouard Orange, Centenier, and Edouard Martel, Sergeant du Roy: Jersey Heritage D/Y/A/7/41
- ↑ Judith Bailhache was also mentioned in the 1768 will of her half-brother, Jean Le Brocq, son of William
- ↑ Matthieu Bailhache, son of Jean, had as godparents Philippe Le Feuvre and his daughter. Matthieu must have been short, as he was nicknamed le petit, as seen from the baptism entries of his children in the St Ouen Register. He lived at L`Etacq
- ↑ Godparents: Elie Le Cornu, grandfather, and his wife
- ↑ There were probably two children born in the years 1671-1681. Catherine was almost certainly godmother in 1711 to Elizabeth Bailhache, the daughter of Jean Bailhache and Elizabeth, nee Le Ruez: see Descendants of Matthieu Bailhache. Jean was described as her brother
- ↑ Godparents: Elie Le Cornu, grandfather, and his wife
- ↑ Perhaps the Jean, fils Matthieu, of the 2nd generation of Descendants of Matthieu Bailhache. The Jean, on that tree, would have been fifteen on marrying
- ↑ Possible daughter. Not originally on this tree but her baptismal entry in St Ouen shows her as a daughter of Jean. Marie may also have had a brother Jean Bailhache (1640- ) as a Jean Bailhache and his unnamed wife had, in March 1666, a son named Jacques, baptised in the parish, with godparents "Jacques Bailhache and his wife", who had married two months previously, in January
