This tree was added to the site in 2010 and updated in 2012. Generations not in the direct male line were removed in a 2018 review

A further review of Collas trees in 2020 identified George and Philippe at generation 5 as brothers in the existing Descendants of George Collas tree, which wrongly identified their sons, both Jean. Online trees seem to vary with regard to the first two generations, particularly in the direct forbears of Elie Collas, husband of Marie Laell

  5. ↑ Of Gorey; Merchant and owner of a fleet of sailing cutters. These vessels, based in Gorey, were mostly used for dredging, in the offshore oyster beds. Other St Martin men owning cutters in this fishery were Elias Whitley, George Asplet, John and Mark Cantell and Nicolas Pallot
  6. ↑ Godfather: Revd. William Charles Gallichan, brother of the mother. Marie Ann Collas was herself clearly a godly young woman, as she was chosen as godmother of her young sibling, Edmund Henry Collas, in 1832

  10. ↑ He settled in Australia, initially as a Gold Miner. The newspaper Empire, (Sydney, NSW: 1850-1875), on the 7/8/1852, carried a list of arrivals from London aboard the 900 ton ship Saracen. Edmund Hy. Collas was included, followed in the list by "D. Le Brog". This will have been Douglas Le Brocq of Gorey, whose sister, Charlotte, had married Edmund`s elder brother, Edward Collas. There is much online information regarding Edmund Henry Collas, who had, by his second wife a large family, with descendants in Australia. His godmother had been Marie Ann Collas [his elder sister], who died when he was aged three. Edmund died in July 1895 at Gum Tree, Buninyong, in Victoria
