Record Search

If you want to search for records for any name in this family tree, or for any other family name, just click below on the first letter of the family name you are interested in. This will open a new tab in your browser giving you a list of family names beginning with that letter, for which there are baptism records in our database of half a million church and public registry records.

You can also select marriages or burials. Select the name you want and when the list of records is displayed you can easily refine the search, choosing a single parish, given name(s) and/or start and end dates.

The records are displayed 30 to a page, but by selecting the yellow Wiki Table option at the top left of the page you can open a full, scrollable list. This list will either be displayed in a new tab or a pop-up window. You may have to edit the settings of your browser to allow pop-up windows for www.jerripediabmd.net. For the small number of family names for which a search generates more than 1,500 records you will have to refine your search (perhaps using start or end dates) to reduce the number of records found.

Notes and references

  1. Likely brother of Thomas Le Breton (1430-by 1486)
  2. Living, of age, in 1491, when he was engaged in a transaction with Jean Le Breton, son of the above Thomas
  3. Constable of Trinity, 1580-1585
  4. Treasurer of Trinity, 1609
  5. Sister of Benjamin La Cloche senior, Seigneur de Longueville
  6. Seigneur de Saval
  7. Of Les Ifs, Croiserie, Trinity. This, the paternal property of this branch of Le Bretons, is situated within half a mile of the two principal holdings of the "Descendants of Servais Le Breton", in Croiserie, being Beachwood and Bannelais
  8. Messervy believed this Edouard died without issue: ABSJ 6, 37
  9. "Trinity: Richard du Feu, son of Nicolas, and of Mary Le Breton his wife, in right of Mr Aaron Le Breton, son of Francis [owed] seven sous and a half": Extente (1749)
  10. Martin Le Breton, formerly of St Brelade, was in 1607 living in Guernsey: R.P.2/175: "Martin Le Breton, son of Raulin, living in the Isle of Guernsey sold 12 quartiers of wheat rente to Jean Le Breton, [his] elder brother"
  11. "Only daughter and heiress of Raulin Le Breton and of Marguerite Le Riche, his wife": R.P.20/62
  12. Sire Helier Le Breton, recorded as being of Trinity, was a priest in 1554. He embraced the Reformation [ABSJ 6, 28] and became Regent of St Mannelier, 1581-1587
  13. Sire Philippe Le Breton, "of Trinity", was admitted at Coutances to the priesthood in 1497/8 [ABSJ 6, 27]. His estimated date of birth is comparatively easy to calculate from this admission, at the end of his studies, to the priesthood, making his placement within the genealogy of the Trinity Le Bretons relatively straightforward. As neither Sire Philippe, nor property formerly owned by him, feature in any of 16th century transactions of the heirs of Jean Le Breton (1460- ), son of Thomas, he was probably a younger son of Raulin Le Breton, and therefore a brother of Abey Le Breton, whose grandson was also a priest. In the 16th century, the Le Bretons of Trinity still retained an interest in property situated in St Brelade, which parish was the Island "cradle" of the family. Raulin Le Breton and Thomas Le Breton, father of the above mentioned Jean (1460- ), were in all likelihood only the second generation of the family to have lived in Trinity. The Trinity options as to Sire Philippe`s parentage were therefore few
